Getting the UPI App Installed

Like many other people, I am also forced to adopt the new mobile digital payment system, UPI or Unified Payment Interface which is an improvement of the existing IMPS instant online money transfer. Getting it done was easy. Installed PhonePe app from the google android play store. Then set a 4 digit PhonePe password and another 6 digit MPIN password of my choice. MPIN password was set after i linked my bank account to the app. So if anyone want to send me money, the only information they need to know is maneeshj@ybl which is my Virtual payment address or my mobile number.IFSC codes and bank account numbers no longer required to send and receive digital money.

Account holders of the 21 participating banks can use UPI apps of any bank.
  1. Andhra Bank
  2. Axis Bank
  3. Bank of Maharashtra
  4. Canara Bank
  5. Catholic Syrian Bank
  6. DCB Bank
  7. Karnataka Bank
  8. Union Bank of India
  9. United Bank of India
  10. Vijaya Bank
  11. Punjab National Bank
  12. Oriental Bank of Commerce
  13. TJSB
  14. Federal Bank
  15. ICICI Bank
  16. UCO Bank
  17. South Indian Bank
  18. HDFC Bank
  19. State Bank of India
  20. Standard Chartered Bank India

 Sekhar Swamy:

the man difference between Chillar paytm n UPI is that the 1st two r not promoted by RBI . It's just awesome application now it's free also. If villages are without electricity n banks would that condition should remain as it is ? Nope it should change. Irrespective of the parties I would openly would have supported the govt decisions to do the demonititation. Even the last 1 week I'm witnessing the customers coming for pos terminals. People slowly started to understand the importance of cashless economy. It's a positive sign.it's just awesome app. Already started using it.... sekharswamy@icici . if a whole village can go digital in India y can't others. This is future.

There is many apps floating phone pay is promoted by Flipkart and yes bank. Icici wallet is used by more people. Federal Bank lotza also there
Very positive video on India's future in it's journey towards cashless economy. Build ATMs and Banks at all 6 lakh villages. Remonitization helps government to strengthen their banks and allow private as well as public sector banks to flourish. Gramin Bank and Co-operative Banks should be the first ones to join the digital revolution. They should come out with innovative services like ATM cum debit cards which the villagers can use to buy goods from shops. This can happen when all the shopkeepers install POS terminals in their merchant premises.

Let us imagine a scenario in the cashless economy. Tommorrow I visit a government office. The sarkari babu looks at my application forms, accepts it and takes my mobile number or gives his mobile number. Later He calls on my mobile number or when I call he says, "There are some procedures in your application. There is no guarantee that it gets done. Ok I shall try my best. But there will be an expense of 5000 rs to get this done to be given to different desk officers to make it happen. You may send the money to my virtual payment address 'youralwayshelpingsarkaribabu@sbi'. "
